The Forbidden Atlas by Sam Sedgman

A thrilling adventure through the streets and catacombs of Paris.

Paperback copy of Sam Sedgman’s novel The Forbidden Atlas on a white background. Cover show a boy in a red t-shirt on a rooftop in Paris.

Maps, clues, jewels, and villains

When a bodyguard gets shot in the National Archives in Paris, Isaac Turner and friend Hattie are catapulted into their second high-energy, high-octane adventure. This time they’re on the trail of a mysterious map and its legendary treasure - but it’s a dangerous trail and the villains are hot on their heels.

There’s a nice balance between the heroes: Hattie is gung-ho; while Isaac is more cautious, using logical thinking and an aptitude for science to think his way out of the tight spots.

I particularly enjoyed the dramatic prologue and our introduction to the merciless Carmen. The Forbidden Atlas is a smooth, pacy, exciting adventure with a nail-biting finale. Rolls out like clockwork. Great fun.
