Reflections on Interviews
Three reflections on the Bath Children’s Novel Award interview yesterday. I wish I’d used fewer exclamation marks. The words should’ve carried the emotion, not the punctuation. I wish I hadn’t wriggled away from the challenging questions. A sidestep is not a satisying answer. And finally: less gloss, more blood. Less armour, more warmth. Which is how I’m trying to avoid saying, less of an eye to what is correct.
Less gloss, less armour.
