Reflections on Interviews
Three reflections on the Bath Children’s Novel Award interview yesterday. I wish I’d used fewer exclamation marks. The words should express the emotion, so the punctuation doesn’t have to. I wish I hadn’t wriggled away from the challenging questions. It makes for unsatisfying answers. And finally: less gloss, more blood. Less armour, better content. Which is how I’m trying to avoid saying, more honesty.
Less gloss, more blood.
